As a Miami native, Joni grew up surrounded by South Florida’s natural, tropical beauty. An appreciation for blue skies, vivid flowers, the clear aquamarine ocean, and graceful palm trees became ingrained in her DNA. After 34 years as a Graphic Illustrator at the National Hurricane Center, she retired and relocated to New Smyrna Beach, where they embrace coastal living and the freedom to pursue art in any form.

Joni’s professional experience and Florida sensibilities form the backdrop of her work, reflecting a love of vibrant tropical flora and fauna. Constantly honing her craft, she has explored various media and formats—from computer graphics and hand-drafting to painting in watercolor and acrylic.
